Fleeting moments

Do you ever just sit there and observe the clouds drift away? That's time drifting away. Time packs its bags and departs. It never comes back. Can you fathom something so precious being lost forever? No trace. No warning. Just forever slipping away like sand from the palm of life. Isn't it so scary, so dismaying? What I denominated as the present is now the past.

Do you ever look at the stars twinkling in the distant ashy blue sky? And as the sky dusks and the night falls, as the sky transforms its ombre to a solid dark blue they shine even brighter. They grow in number, slowly taking over the entire sky. Then appears the white ball of light that illuminates the dark, the moon with its blemishes but ever so beautiful. And as I sit by the window in the faint luminescence of the Moon I wonder what it's like to be so heavenly yet so lonely. I wonder what it's like to be able to outshine all other celestial bodies but never be able to glow from within. I wonder what it's like to be millions of miles away yet so close that you could almost see those scars. Scars begotten by those who hurt her. Be that as it may, there she is standing out amongst all other, eclipsing their beauty, being admired by millions.
